Student Visa: What You Need to Know
Eligibility
- An offer of place from a New Zealand educational institution (public or private)
- Sufficient funds to cover tuition fees and living expenses
- Evidence of English language proficiency (IELTS or TOEFL, institution-dependent)
- Valid passport
- Meet health and character requirements
- Medical and travel insurance
Work Rights
- Up to 25 hours per week during the academic term
- Full-time during scheduled holidays
- Your partner may be eligible for a work visa
- Graduates can apply for a Post-Study Work Visa (1–3 years open work)
